Hunger Free Vermont

Since 1993 Hunger Free Vermont (HFVT)’s mission has been to end the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. We believe that everyone, at every age, has the right to food to sustain an active and healthy life. To accomplish this, we provide Vermont’s schools and communities with free assistance to expand their meal programs to reach hundreds of new kids every year with breakfast, lunch, afterschool, and summer food, and advocate for all preschoolers to receive the consistent nutrition they require for healthy development. HFVT also works to support programs like 3SquaresVT that help families afford nutritious food while they improve their economic circumstances. And we work collaboratively to help communities all over the state create long-term changes in their local issues of hunger that make it possible for every one of their residents to have dignified, stable access to food whenever they need it.
